After some intensive math and mile crunching I came to the conclusion that if I minimized my travel, I could do the trip just under the 1,000 miles. You can’t take a shorter route if you’re taking a road-trip. You have to travel through the areas that have the Superchargers or risk ending up with no charge.
Charging at 120v is super slow so forget about charging at a friends house, you’ll be in for a rude awakening if you arrive with only 5-10% charge and the nearest Supercharger is 15-20% away.
